Yondriani’s Story: A Testimony of Hope, Resilience, and Community
Yondriani’s journey is a powerful example of hope, resilience, and the strength of a united community. At just 14 years old, her parents—residents of Mérida, Venezuela—came to our foundation in desperation.
Yondriani had been born with a congenital heart defect (CHD), specifically Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that required a critical procedure called an ablation to correct the electrical pathways in her heart.
At the time, no public hospital in Venezuela had the equipment needed to perform this life-saving procedure. Her parents, determined to give their daughter a chance at a healthy future, reached out to us for help.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, we were able to fully fund her ablation.
The procedure was a success, and for the first time, Yondriani was free from the health challenges that had marked her early life.
Today, Yondriani is an inspiring 18-year-old filled with dreams. Motivated by her personal journey and the care she received, she has decided to study medicine. Her goal is to one day help children with conditions like hers, ensuring they too have a second chance at life.
Her story is a reflection of Fundación Estrellita de Belén’s mission: to transform lives and empower the next generation to build a better future.
